    Right!

I had it all sorted in my head I was going for the new Sony 40W4500 and then saw the Pioneer KRL-37V.

The Sony is €1,599 with a free Blue Ray Player and 3 year warranty and the Pioneer is €1,899 flat!

Money aside im wondering which one to go for....... any suggestions??

On the Sony it’s won What Hi Fi tv of the year and the 3 year warranty is sweet I already have a Blue Ray Payer so don’t need it.

The Pioneer is a more suitable size for my unit as the Sony will be wedged in. I already have a 43 inch Pioneer and its savage hence the confusion..........

    What to do???

The w4500 is alot cheaper on Komplett and Richersounds.com

Pioneer are know for amazing Plasma's, never herard much about theyr LCD's. W4500 is very good by all accounts.

The Pioneer LCDs are brand new and haven't seen any reviews of them around yet.
AFAIK, they use a Sharp panel & everything else is Pioneer made. It uses the same filter technology that they use to great effect on their Plasma range.

I have no doubt it will be a great LCD but is it worth the premium? The LCD TV market is ultra price-competitive, I'm not sure there is demand for an ultra-niche high-end product.
Pioneer could and did get away with it in the Plasma TV market as there are far far less CE companies making panels and their TVs stood out as the best money could buy.

i'd recommend the panny 37" lcd, the tx-37lz85. i've seen the pioneer and its a nice set, but i reckon its not as good as the W Sony or the Panny lz85.

The Sammy 40" 686 is top notch with a decent price. If you want to ge the latest greates Komplett are listing the 40" Sammy 786 which is LED back lit and and been reviewed as the most advaced best looking LCD on the market.

Same lag as a W4500 and it can be reduced by either using game mode or PC mode. The Combing/interlacing your not likely to notice unless your plasterd up to the screen. The off angle issue is the same on alot of LCD's and user reoprts are that its not that bad. The guy who wrote that has discussed it extensivly on AVForums.co.uk. Over all those that have seen the 786 have been blown away by it.

There are other more consumer reviews:

If you're looking for the best video quality then it has to be the Pioneer LCD. I have the 32W4000, which is pretty much the same as the W4500 minus a few features, and am very happy with it. If you want the free Blu-ray offer, plus the cheaper price then the Sony is still an excellent buy.

You should check out the Pioneer thread on AVForums for user feedback.
