I'm heading to Milan this weekend and have the chance to get tickets for the Inter Milan v Genoa game.

Now the thing is, should I go? As anyone who knows football will have seen the bad reports Italian football has been getting in the press this year and in previous years due to violence (a policeman died earlier this year!) etc.

So would I be mad to go? Or should I risk it and just prepare to run like hell if I do see any trouble??? :D

There's practically no chance of trouble at this game. Get tickets for the main stand and you'll avoid any hint of it.

If you like football, or brilliant architecture, I'd strongly advise going.

It won't sell out so don't pay over face value for a ticket. You can buy them in loads of places in the city up to the day before hand. You'll need ID

I went to the San Siro for Inter v AEK Aethens in the Uefa cup and for Milan vs Manchester United in the Champions League. I sat with the Milan fans for both games.

I had no problems at either game. At the Inter game, we spent alot of it talking to two nice older gents about Robbie Keane (or "baby Irish" as he was affectionately known). At the Milan game, they knew myself and my mates were United fans, but we were respectful and so there were no problems. The fans in the smaller stands were a bit rowdy though.

My advice would be to defiantely go, but make sure you sit in the home section. Buy a Milan scarf and a knock-off shirt for about 10-15 euro and get singing :)

If you can, get a tour as it was brilliant.

Yeah I was planning on doing the tour as the stadium itself is amazing and I definitely wanted to see it..

Guess I better get my Inter scarf so and get signing.. :D
