Hi I was thinking of going to Japan in March for three weeks. The flights are very expensive has anybody been what's the cheapest strategy?

I'm pretty wise when it comes to sites to see around Tokyo, I'd like maybe to go snow boarding or to the Islands maybe if possible. Any suggestions on how to make the best of the trip.

Be careful to perhaps try and avoid 'Golden Week'...

I was there at the end of April/Start of May. They have a week of holidays where everyone basically goes to on holiday or goes to public events... So lots of hotels, trains, flights etc are booked up and can get expensive...

I'll be fine I'm confined to three weeks time off in March. What airline did you fly with? any recommendations?

I flew with Air France via Paris to Tokyo Narita.

I found them to be very good. Nice aircraft, nice food, good service in general... I've flown long haul with them to Mexico and Brazil as well and would definitely recommend them for long haul flights.

I think Dublin to Tokyo return was about €700 at the time. Should be in and around that price anyway.

I have heard that JAL are supposed to be good as well, but I've never personally flown with them. They are Japanese so you can be guaranteed that everything will work and be on time :D

    Hi

I usually fly with KLM via Schiphol. Cos KLM's flight connection between Dublin and Japan is very good. Also their service (meal and entertainment) is good, too.

Going in December, got it as a free stop on the way to Aus. Not sure about flights (went with BA & Qantas through USIT) but for what to do there, have found these guys:
