"This tiny RC chopper fits in the palm of your hand and is suitable for indoor use. It can fly up and down, turn left and right and even hover with amazing stability." Taken from grabitnow.com

no they pretty much do everything, i'm just a little worried it's a case of one crash and in the bin type scenario, but it looks sooo good.

I had one before, won it in a grabber machine in Bray. the control is the excat same and it does forward, I think it went backward but cant remember, not left or right. Quite a cool little toy you and will need a bit of pratice. One thing I disliked was you only got 15min from each charge and can only be really used indoors because any gust of wind will send it flying off. Also only has a small range of 10-15m.

I was looking to buy another one might get this as play.com wont deliver any 'gadgets'

If you read the descriptions on the other choppers, they specifically talk about flying around the room, I think the cheap one pretty much goes up and down and turns, but no forward/backward movement

Well check delivery too because I think firebox is like £13 to Ireland nearly the same price as some of the helicopters.

Smyths toys have a PicooZ Sidewinder for €25.99 other RC helicopters available there too.

I have something similar which a mate brought back from Thailand. You really need access to a large indoor space such as a school gym to fly it. Although I have flown it outside on calm days.

Might get an RC Plane like this one sometime in the future...

I bought the Pico version which is nearly identical - same controller etc. I paid €40 for it (plus delivery!) about a year or more ago when they first came out. Worth every penny. They only have up and down and left right controls and trim on left/right but after you can fly up and down ok you can add a bit of weight - paper clip, or a bit of tape to catch some of the downdraft, to the nose and it'll fly continuosly forward.

Only suitable for indoors except on the calmest of calm days but remarkably crash proof. Recommended but enough of a challenge to test your commitment to learn to fly it OK. As the charge depletes the behaviour and trim change so it'll always keep you busy.

You can get an 'IR gun' equipped pair now that can shoot each other down - worth considering.

Looks like the best deal yet: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverlit-PicooZ-Extreme-Micro-Helicopter/dp/B001381O94
Do they post to Ireland? It says Mainland UK all the Islands as well as Northern Ireland so why not here?

EDIT: Can't be shipped to Republic of Ireland by order of the Queen I guess.

    Hello,
The toys your looking at are grand but there just kids toys. If they break (and they probably will easily) you will not be able to get spare parts.

That's the difference between these types of things you see for sale in the toy shops and the ones for radio control hobbyists. When you crash the hobby models most parts can be repaired. Prices are alot more up front but those little things your linking to are a waste.

Not only because they break easily and can't be repaired but also that there is not alot of skill involved to keep you interested like the hobby models require you to master.

In other words it will probably be thrown in the corner of a room after a few days.

Ireland is the second most windy country on the planet so small models are food for the nearest trees outdoors

These small models don't last very long on average as something gets broken flying indoors and they clober something

Its just a gimmick compared to the full size proper planes and helis that can fly outdoors and do loops and rolls and fly upside down

I get most all the stuff in the shops in Dublin but it cost more than E20 but I can get spares from them

Shops like www.greenhobbymodel.com Harolds cross or model shop in Capel Street D1 and others exist in the city near airport
