M50 Motorway Surveillance.

With the m50 road works nearing completion after some 25 years of on going construction, have the NRA forgotten the surveillance cameras that might help the traffic corp to put some of the worst road hogs behind bars.
Surely a few strategical placed cameras would have good to help the general population.

I drive the m50 quite regularly and i reckon that i can only see a few cameras at some of the main junctions, I'm not sure that they are cameras as they are very very high and as such they do not look like your standard camera.

They appear to be cameras but the appear to have a mirrors on the out side(both on north bound and south bound) that points earth ward at 45 deg's whilst the main camera stays horizontal in its protective housing.
If these are cameras then i fail to see how they could help the police as their angle of incidence to the general traffic is so great as to make it near impossible to read any registration of any vehicle.

Surely then if they are cameras they are only for traffic management and not for law enforcement.

    Any thoughts on this observation
    Thanks

Dublin Traffic Managers do have a plan you know. They try to keep people on the M50 for so long, they may get out and help build the rest of the motorway for free.
