    1. Make love to it.
    2. Convert it into a George Foreman Grill
    3. Install Linux on it.

    Your choice...

i think the last one is the only interest one. its that or take it apart

Didn't someone convert one into a laptop?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,721 ✭✭✭Otacon

Yeah, I saw that on Engadget. It was the size of a briefcase!

I don't know what else you want to do with it. I tried (unsuccessfully) to get CS1.6 running on it using Yellow Dog Linux. EPIC FAIL on my part.

    1. Cut a portion off the top and use it as an egg incubator
    2. Put it on your lap, get some drum sticks, insert Rock Band and convince your friends you can use the playstation itself as a drum in the game.
    3. Put it behind you while playing games and use it as a lower back warmer
    4. Kneel infront of your PS3 and pray to it for help and guidance before trying to complete Ninja Gaiden Sigma on Master Ninja difficulty

If you have all your media (music, movies etc) on your PC, install TVersity on your PC and stream them to your PS3 to play over the TV.

Or MediaLink if you have a Mac. Either way, it's a brilliant feature.

    Look at it and ...

    ....... wait.

The same way as we had to wait for Sony to eventually release it here
and then wait for them to release any decent games and now wait as
yet again more games are delayed.

Can you do that the other way around too? ie if i upgrade the hard disk and throw all my vids, music, etc on it, could i use the playstation as a media-hub for my laptop and desktop?

That's probably the most entertaining thing to do....:D:D

If I put an AVI video file on a memory stick and plugged it in the PS3's USB port, could I just play it straight away?

I tried on my friends PS3 but it didnt work. Said it was empty BUT he has probably never ever updated the Firmware. Is there an update that lets you do this? Thanks

.avi file needs to be in a folder named VIDEO, in a folder named PS3 on the memory stick. Even then it won't show normally; with the memory stick highlighted, press the triangle button then select show all (or display all, I forget) and you should find it.

i use mine as a dust gatherer. it gathers dust exceptionally well, far better than the puny sky box it's parked next to.

Yep, once you highlight the file, press triangle to bring up the menu and that should let you copy it locally.
