main campus power shutdown this weekend

    Hi,

    All power to main campus is being shutdown this weekend Friday 24th October until Tuesday 28th.
    As a result all IT services will be offline - that's email, web, everything. If you need some notes or whatever, get them before the weekend.

    I assume the main campus will be closed too, though none of the emails I've gotten about the shutdown mentioned that.

    According to the website it's closed from 5 friday.

    ouch, thats a bad bounce having exams so early. With the jazz on as well there's not much chance of study at home.

    I wouldn't count on access to blackboard or any services like that tuesday morning. They might not be able to bring them online all that quickly, given that the power feed might not be stable for a while.

    Did anyone else see the generators they were setting up on the campus on thursday and friday there was one at the back of the main rest and one at the front of the orb and another at the back of the kane. Surely they could have got one for the library too. I suppose the main rest and kane had refrigerators that needed to be kept going and also the windle. I have a feeling the works they are doing are dangerous and it would be far easier if the college was closed.
