Bus Éireann to Provide Late Night Services for Cork Jazz Festival

Bus Éireann is to provide three late night services during Cork Jazz Festival to service Carrigaline, Ballincollig and Midleton.

The services will operate from Cork city centre on Friday, October 24th, Saturday, October 25th, and Sunday, October 26th, with each service departing at 1am, 2am and 3am.

The Carrigaline service will depart from outside Debenhams on St Patrick’s Street and service Douglas East Village, Maryborough Hill and Carrigaline.

The Ballincollig service will depart from outside Debenhams on St Patrick’s Street and service Bishoptown via Curraheen Road and Melbourne Road, and Ballincollig.

The Midleton service will depart from outside Eason’s on St Patrick’s and service Carrigtwohill and Midleton.

Single journey fares will be €3 (Douglas, Bishoptown), €5 (Ballincollig, Carrigaline, Carrigtwohill), and €8 (Midleton).

“Our late night services during the Cork Jazz Festival mean that people living and staying outside the city centre can enjoy the great nights of music and get home safely without the expense and hassle of organising other means of transport,” said Joe Fitzgerald, Regional Manager, Bus Éireann.

Bus Éireann is also currently offering unlimited travel on all city routes during a day for €4. The Cork City Day Saver allows users to make as many journeys as they like across the Cork city network on the day they purchase the ticket.

Children in Cork can also get a real treat this Halloween with an exciting competition from Bus Éireann. Children up to 16 years of age have the chance to win a Nintendo Wii or a Nintendo DS Lite or an iPod by simply returning by post or hand their used Bus Éireann ticket with their name, address and phone details on the back to the Travel Centre at Parnell Place, Cork. Entries will be accepted between Saturday October 25th and Sunday November 2nd 2008.
