Help please - DS won't accept DS card

    Hi,

My little one's DS won't accept any of her DS game cards, they slot in and out as normal but the console just doesn't know they're there.

The gameboy games in the other port work just fine.

She tells me that the games were "freezing" for a while before this happened.

    Anyone got any ideas?:(

Happens from time to time if dust gets in the Slot. Take out the card, hold the DS above your head (slot down) and blow into the slot to loosen any dust. See if that fixes it.

'fraid that didn't work, any other ideas, or where can I send a DS to be fixed?

Not sure what the warranty on a DS is. How old is it? When did you buy it?

It might be that one of the pins in the slot is bent or damaged. You know the gold connectors on the carts? there are corresponding pins in the cart slot. Have a look in and see if any look bent. I have seen this happen before when little hands are putting games in none too gently.I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it up yourself if one of them is bent. I have heard of a guy in Bray that fixes DS's but I don't have his details. Maybe someone here can help with that bit......................................
