What a bunch of dumb ass bog men are working down in Cork customs. These dumb ass farmers that got a job in customs were going around drilling holes in a lorry.
"Should we drill another hole Pat"
"Ah sure go on, ya might as well...careful over there now"

Are these really the people working for the revenue or are they actors.

Haha yeah, the Cork fellas don't seem as professional as the Dubs.

Its the same in every country. My uncle drove buses and lorries for years in and out of England. A thorough customs inspection would take 5-6 hours and the vehicle being taken apart, engine, tyres, everything!!!

What part of the lorry were they drilling holes in? Had they a sniffer dog or anything to indicate there might have been something there>?

No dog, thats exactly the problem. They were literally just guessing and drilling here and there.

Ok just watched the show on the rte player and 2 things.
It was Rosslare port not Cork....didn't you notice the absence of 'like' and 'boy' at the end of each sentence lol.
And there had been some recent modifications to the trailer, freshly painted and welding points, etc. Plenty of reason to search it.

The thing I found strange about drilling the holes was that it was in a refrigerated unit. Then they had a gun with some sealant and were 'making good' the holes. I am sure there was permanent damage done to the container.

Was the same in the UK according to the uncle. They'ld barely put the lorry back together when they were done with the search. He often had to get a mechanic out when they would hand the lorry back to him.
That seemed like a fairly non invasive search. 5 or 6 drill holes to see whats in the insulation cavity. Now if they had taken a disc cutter to the panels then I would have been shocked.

I just saw a bit of it last night and they supposedly smelt cannabis in some couples campervan. That really amazed me, seeing as the sniffer dog didn't even blink when they put him into it :D Drama queens...

Whatever about the job the customs guys are doing, I think the show is great.

The guy from Dublin seizing the BMW and then not being about to start it was priceless!

He looked a right fool! Took him a while on the road before putting on his seat belt too. Tut tutt!

Some serious power trips going on in customs. Pathetic really

Don't see any power trips going on, just people doing their jobs.

That Dub bloke Martin Rogers seems like an awful nasty person. Probably a wannabie Garda when he was younger. Power-tripper.

As bad as they make Customs over here look with mini Eddie Hobbs in Cork and the Dublin guy (who I swear wishes he was in the army but probably just spends his weekends in the Dublin mountains with a plastic gun) it's still not as bad as the Aussie customs are made to look on Nothing to Declare. I'd be afraid to bring a jaffa cake into the country for fear of a cavity search if that's the way they really are.

I agree, its their job and for anyone who is moaning about drilling holes in containers, its not unique to Ireland.

I have been stopped in UK and Holland and have had my container drilled into
