if u have any old machines lying around, take the hard drive and disc drive out,

then go into maplins or peats and you can get cheap mobo bundles, not sure how much they are tho, u might get one for under 100

then ya need a powersupply which is bout 20-40 euro,

mouse n keyboard about 15 quid for the pair,

if u can find an old screen lying around ur best bet is to get an old screen monitor lying around too, if not then the cheapest 15'' standerd screens are like over 150.

after that youll need a case to house all that in, they start at 50 in peats or maplins, and it will have screws and chassis to lodge ur drives and bolt your motherboard to.

then your operating system, windows xp is my suggestion, vista is not the way forward. windows xp off komplette.ie is about 120euro. contact me for more information ;p

and another note your motherboard bundles will contain RAM, a CPU, and ur motherboard. the motherboard will have its own soundcard and graphics card built on it. and when ur screwin down the mobo you will notice all the ports coming into view to be sticking out the back of your case.

place your RAM card into the slots on the mobo, and your cpu will have to be placed underneath your heat sync, the only warning i give is to never power on your mobo while your heat sync is off, this will instantly burn your processor.

hope it goes well for ya!

Not sure what year the guy above is living in....Maplins is the worst place possible to buy pretty much anything - boards, cases, video cards, processors, memory - all hilariously about 200% the average online price, and they even make PC World look good at times. 150 euro would get you a 20" monitor, let alone 'cheapest 15" are like over 150" - 100 euro would get you a 19" monitor.

If you think 250 is too much then buy second hand, 250 is a very small budget for a machine. Regardless for just web browsing and looking at pictures, you only need the most basic parts available really - 1gb of ram is plenty, 512mb would even be enough if you were really tight - and such a machine would not exactly require vast amounts of power. Assuming you'd use WinXP by the way.

Here's what i'd use as a 'decent' (component quality wise), super budget PC for web browsing and storage. About 260 including postage - Komplett.ie.

    Decent-Cheap.jpg

There's also the 'cheap', super budget PC like follows. 200 including delivery. Dabs.ie

    Cheap-Cheap.jpg

And finally, the ultimate cost cutter. 177 including delivery. Dabs.ie

    crap-cheap.jpg

It'd be very much worth your while looking at www.adverts.ie, 250 would get you a fairly respectable machine, in fact, 50-100 euro would get you a machine perfectly good for the requirements outlined by yourself. :)
