Best Rugby pics I've seen in the last few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Calina

Those are absolutely outstanding, 2 and 3 in particular are just the best rugby photographs I have seen on this board. Well done and I hope you enjoyed the match.

    thanks for posting them.

I'm going to bow out of this thread. ;)

Hah! Both players have their feet of the ground!

Thanks for the very kind comments, guys.

I had a serious blonde moment today.
Was down in someone's gaff in Stockport, just sitting around.
At 12:40, I flicked on Sky Sports News only to discover that the game was on at 13:00 and not 15:00, as I had originally thought.

Jumped in the car & raced to the ground, not even knowing where the hell it was.
By some beautiful twist of fate, I got to the ground without getting lost & ended up right outside a car park, where they had reserved a space for me.

I ran into the ground, but they were out of bibs & told me that I couldn't work without one. A bit of Irish charm & they let me off.
Amazingly, I was in position just in time for the start of the game.

The eyes on him are unreal, aren't they! :D
    He's an amazing player.
It's a privilege to get to watch him.
That's him making the tackle in the first pic too.

You know me, Paul. Always an adventure! :D
    It wasn't a bad ground.
At least the rain held off.

Love the pics, some great rugby photos have been posted here over the last few weeks. Well done everyone.

Some excellent shots Peadar but I would get rid of number 2 as number one is too similar and the background in 2 is too busy with a bit of blank space in the top middle whereas in 1 it has a beautiful bokeh of the crowd. Number 3 and 4 are outstanding and must have been nice to shoot in good daylight conditions.

    Yeah, that's you alright. LOL.

Ah, it's good to have an adventure. I'd a busy weekend with sport, but all fun.

Great rugby from the two big Irish provences. Nice to see so many boards following the rugby too.

    Fair comments.
I put No. 2 in there because of the expression on the player's face.
    Such exertion!

they're all really good shots. The one of dougie is pretty funny too alright. Also in the pic with dowling it in it, is he wearing a big pad on his thigh?

    Sorry about the small sizes.
I'm on my work laptop & don't have larger sizes on flickr.
I intend to sell some of these images to raise money for FORAS.

I really like the last image there. A show of celebration.

No sport for me over the weekend, but football tonight and Fri, then international rugby next Saturday. Looking forward to it all. :D

Nice pics there City, good to see Cork salvage something from a terrible season off the pitch!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,547 ✭✭✭City-Exile

    The relief was huge!
A few weeks ago, we had to consider the fact that we may no longer have a club.
Now, we're back in business & have some reward for all the effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,459 ✭✭✭Dodgykeeper

Just out of interest City, where would you put the Setanta in regards importance, I reckon its

    1 League
    2 FAI Cup
    3 Setanta
    4 League Cup

I know the Setanta has more money for the winner but the UEFA place makes the FAI Cup more important in my opinion!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,547 ✭✭✭City-Exile

The Setanta Sports Cup is the best for money, since we get a share of the gate receipts too. I would pretty much agree with your assesment, but, given our recent troubles, this suddenly became the most important game in our history.
We just need to hope we can finish 4th in the league & that we're then allowed into Europe. The FAI have said that they'll back us in that.

You coming to Thomond? I'll see you there and be prepared to get lost trying to get onto the pitch.

Yep as I see it too, history/tradition is very important too.

Love the last one from yesterday too Peadar, great feeling comes across from the player and also nothing beats night atmosphere from a Footy match.

Yeah, heading down Saturday morning, and staying in some B&B that night (on Ennis road).

    Should be an interesting event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

Should be there early myself. Was toying with the idea of B&B and save all the hassle. Also it was weird to get the passes in the post, but it's a win win situation. Just hope I don't forget it.
