    Hey guys,

My girlfriend bought a second hand dell laptop some time ago (out of warranty) for a low price. Since buying it the USB ports have been very on/off seeming like a faulty connection or port. At this stage the ports are dead. I got her a CARD USB slot (that needs to be independently powered) but I was wondering as a repair job would it cost a lot to fix the problem? Is it a case of a new motherboard or simply replacing and resoldering the USB ports? Forgive my ignorance. :)

    Thanks,

    Colum
