I think the most memorable ones are quite politically charged:

[warning the scene is quite chilling - little girl naked after being hit by napalm in Vietnam]

and from back home - from the 1989 Tiananmen demonstrations/massacre

The print that resulted from that picture is more famous than the picture itself though.

    How about;

    Okay.

Abusive inflammatory and insulting posts result in infractions at the very least. After an inline mod warning they result in bans. This is an inline mod warning, so bans will ensue for insulting/inflammatory posts.

I am about to clean out a bunch of posts here because the charter clearly states you need to post links and credits for the photographs concerned if they are not your own. So starting again, if you want to post the most famous photographs, per your view, you do it in accordance with the charter which is clear enough on this matter now.

"Most Famous" I thought would have been

    iwo-jima.jpg

    Taken from http://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/2004/winter/images/iwo-jima.jpg

    Wouldn't be my "favourite" though.

Ones i'd think of, Time Square Sailor Kiss, Afghan Girl, Winston Churchill portrait, Cappas Shot Soldier, Burning Monk, Lunch on a Skyscraper and of course more recently the Iraqi ones

Due to my lack of success in searching for Copyright, I would post just a reminder in text - Farrah Fawcett in red swim suit.
I bet everyone knows what picture I am talking about ;)

This is a second inthread warning.

If it is not adhered to there will be ructions, bannings and a thread closure.

All posts with a photograph not including a link and a credit will be deleted and the posterd concerned will be infracted. It is a requirement in the charter of this board that you provide a link back to the original and credit for your source of any photograph you post which you do not take yourself.

This could be a very interesting thread. Do not spoil it by not following the simple rules on this board.

Oh come on!Mine was a LOL cat for f**k sake..You wont be able find the orignal photographer and credit them!!

Ricky, you could at least have linked back to the site you found it on. Look, you don't seriously think I don't have better things to be doing than policing copyright infringements? I know it was a bloody lolcat. It even made me smile. But the rest were not lolcats and there has been far too many of them in the thread.

I'm closing this thread overnight. Obviously it's too much to ask that people might give some scant consideration to the charter in place.
