Life and/or hard labour sentences for drug sellers

Stronger seizable powers for the Criminal Assets Bureau

Longer sentences for those that harm Gardi, nurses, paramedics, fire-fighters and anyone else involved with saving lives in a civic role.

White collar crime should be held just as accountable as those breaking into your home and stealing.

The fear of breaking the law has to has to be put back into criminals.

A three strikes system. On third strike of a serious crime (breaking the law), your in for LIFE!

A prison should be built that is strictly a prison - not a holiday camp.

We adopt a points system like America, Australia and Canada to control the influx of foreign nations.

All actions should have corresponding consequences!

Supporting our teachers with stronger support systems - example: help for teachers who are trying to deal with a particular unruly student.

Smaller class sizes - our teachers are just that, teachers - not generals in charge of a large army!
Teachers today are over extended and being asked to be a teacher/sex educator (because some parents don't do their own job) medic/councillor/child minder/riot controller(!) and more...

The role of a T.D. should be considered by them a calling, an honour and national duty - not just a job, a way to screw with lesser mortals and a way to earn a higher income.

Tightening of the social security payouts for those that really deserve them.
This includes the use of photo and fingerprint authentication of claimants. Using this information in a network which is linked to a European database, those trying to claim the dole in a number of countries at the same time, have a higher risk of being caught!

Less paperwork for on the ground Gardi - allocating them all with at least tazers.

A stronger but open form of government, after all "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"

...There is more but thats a start!

Open-mindedness to all people, regardless of race, religion, sex, sexuality or cultural upbringing.

Equal opportunites and rights for all people, regardless of race, etc.

    Active labour market policy.

Privatisation in most sectors, except education.

Giving the control of education to the state, instead of the church.

Responsibility, transparency and meritocracy in politicians.

    Sexual freedom.

Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow
down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world
hunger. But we can't ignore our social needs. either We
have to stop people from abusing the welfare system. We
have to provide food and shelter for the homeless and
oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights while
also promoting equal rights for women but change the
abortion laws to protect the right to life yet still
somehow maintain women's freedom of choice.
We also have to control the influx of illegal
immigrants. We have to encourage a return to traditional
moral values and curb graphic sex and violence on TV, in
movies, in pop music, everywhere. Most importantly we have
to promote general social concern and less materialism in
    young people.

In terms of politics, I'm for:
    • Lower taxes (40 something perfect is a bit ridiculous...almost half your wages like)
    • More frequent public transport. Single decker buses that run twice as often and trains with fewer carriages(I'm talking about the ridiculously long ones that run with about 10 people on the train at any one time) that are more frequent
    • Pro-choice in terms of abortion....within 28 days of conception
    • Against the death penalty
    • Pro-Eu
    • Reduce the criminal responsibility age from 18 to 16, or else give more power to prosecute juveniles
    • Free education
    • Too late now, but instead of letting the DAA (worst company ever) take control of T2 in Dublin Airport, I would have been for building a new airport on the other side of Dublin and allow a new company to take control of it, so then the two airports would be in competition and ultimately lead to not wasting our money as much just because they can.
    • Bigger police presence
    • Higher tax on alcohol, much higher tax on cigarettes

If I was a politician, I'd stand for whatever the electorate told me to stand for - how else would I get elected?

Oh, and I'd like to paint Leinster House green.

Well local issues are usually a lot different from national issues, and you will usually be elected based on local issues.

But you can't really stand for what you're told to stand for when it comes to something big and morally challenging. Well I wouldn't anyway. I'd stand for what I feel is right

We also have to amend the law to allow Wall Street traders to kill as many homeless as possible, plus reduce the fines if you're late in returning some videotapes.
