Yeah definately loved that white flying dog!!! The music was good and made you get into it more!! The saddest part was the horse sinking in the swamp while being pulled and pulled by Atrieyu :(.

Oh it was brill, I have been waiting for it all week and had my 4 year old excited about it too, we sat with popcorn and 7up and I told her it had to be like the cinema, no talking!!!

I used to have both 1 and 2 on tape and I swear I watched them over and over again as a kid. My husband didn't even know about 1 - he thought 2 was the only one!

    Good Times!

I remember as a child quite fancy'ing the Princess in it.
Unfortunately the actress never did any more films after that as far as I know.

Blatent false advertising! *goes off to add his support to Lionel Hutz*:D

Was ok, tended to be on a bit too often when I was a kid though I felt.

I used to love this when I was a kid. That part when his horse died was definately the saddest part of the film. Its a really great kids film. Never saw part 2 or 3.

It is one of the best children's films ever. At the risk of being pedantic, the flying dog is a luck dragon. He does look like a dog though. Oh god how I cried when the horse sank in the swamp - horrible moment. Lots of other sad bits too. The rock biter who looked so fierce was actually so sweet and gentle and his friends were taken away by "The Nothing" and he was so sad and lonely after them... And poor Bastian, the little guy in the real world, dealing with bullies and his mother's death. Scary bastard of a wolf too towards the end. And Atreyu thinking he had failed Fantasia... :(

Awesome, awesome movie. I'll never grow tired of it. I really wanted to see it on Sunday too but I was going to the cinema at that time to see another kids' movie with tough/sad bits - The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

I can't remember the film properly. I still have the book, I re-read it a year or two ago, and now I'm wondering will I actually enjoy the film if I watched it? Great book anyway!

Got this on DVD on Ebay a few months ago, I think it holds up well. Felt it was a bit short but our kid thought it was a long film, guess films seem longer when you're younger. She enjoyed it though.

Here's what Atreu is up to now (he was my fave lol).

He looks like my dog, well if my dog was pink.

I watched it with the family eating dinner the night it was on. The part with the wolf when The Nothing is about to sweep everything away scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. When we were watching that exact part the other day, the lights in the kitchen flickered off. It was very weird.

Love the film so much, always cried when Artax got swallowed up by the mud.

I absolutely adore these films (except maybe the third one), I remember the evil wolf scaring the crap out of me as a child and crying (like everyone else) when the horse sank into the mud)

I'm beginning to worry as I didn't get particularly upset over the horse when I was a sprog.

    Born without a soul I see... :p

I don't know what it is, I get more upset when I see animals being harmed in films than people.
