Not trying to hijack your thread but have the exact same question and if you don't mind I'll ask the same question but with the extra interest in somewhere sunny and warm and not necessarily close to home. Thanks. :)

Cruise in the Caribbean. Done this last year. Weather good that time of year. Have a look at vacationstogo.com By the way what is your budget??

Well my vote will be Key West Florida for New Years Eve.

I will be there - as I was last year!

It's a great night. Duval street is closed off to traffic and there are a variety of things dropped to mark New Year.
At one end of the street a Pirates Wench is dropped while at the other end of the street "Sushi" a drag queen is dropped down a red stiletto shoe!!!!

And the weather is brill too!!!!

Not to sound like a snob in these times but more interested in experience than the cost

I'd suggest Las Vegas. You'd have a ball there over the xmas period.

    Cheers! ;)

My budget would be about €2k max for four people to get there, after that I'm a bit like Zeus on the pay for whatever you can to enjoy it. I did NZ last year for a month and that was a great experience but just fancy somewhere a bit closer this year as I've only a week, oh and I won't be away for the New Years Eve celebrations, comin' home for that knees up! :D
