About time somebody stood up to Hellmuth. Joke how he never seems to get penalties for his behaviour.

Hope someone hits him next year.

Into next year, or just, next year? Why would you want to wait until next year to hit somebody else?

Terribly long wait if it was new years night.

Who said they want to hit him next year and will wait til then?

seriously though? have ppp ever looked into other high profile players? doyle was apparently given money to head over here i was told which kinda makes sense in some ways..why else would he bother traveling all the way for a tourney

I would give my left nut to see Hellmuth at the Irish open. The entertainment factor would be through the roof. I'd like to see how he would cope with some drunken satellite winner open shoving for 60BB's. :D

my exact reasons..and of course to see which irish teamed entrance he'd enter with two hours late.. maybe arriving in a horse and cart and then flanked by leprechauns or something

I don't know exactly how much it would cost, but you'd never know.

Our Irish Open thinking this year is more along the lines of rewarding the players, our players.

You'll find out all about it at the IWF next week.

Haha I played with that other dude on day three. He was pretty volatile to say the least. Both in his mood and in his play.

was he good though? or just crazy loose

He claims to be the best poker player in Romania. I'd say volatile is an understatement. He nearly broke the table in two pieces when he flung down his cards after been payed off with quad 4's by Chino Reem. He would definitely make me a little uncomfortable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

He wasn't as crazy loose as he appears. He just played normal with intermittent bursts of random spew. Like he 3bet me sb v bb and folded to a shove with AQ, so he wasn't always just lashing his chips in the pot.

Hellmuth pretty much told him what he had preflop, just about put the other guy on a hand he could beat, AQ.

Did'nt Hellmuth get a penalty for this behaviour going into the start of day 6? And it was then mysteriously lifted the next day when he sat down.:confused:

he deserved to get a penalty for this behaviour and I don't see why it was lifted(even if he is mr.Hellmuth). He's my favourite player but I dont' see why the officials let him away with this.
And if i was that romanian, I would be following through the TD's decision to hit the brat with a penalty.

Id have some sympathy for helmuth. It was idiot play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,454 ✭✭✭TripleAce

Hellmuth was way out of line and the Romanian guy handled him great, well done! He is so arrogant!!! However I love watching Phil play because of this....he is just so damn funny :D

Said this, what an idiot play with 10-4 ffs!!! These things happen all the times, especially online, and this is costing me way to many mouses on the wall ffs!!! Donkey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,613 ✭✭✭mormank

this guy did handle himself really well in this instance. that much is true. however it is also true that so called celebrity poker players do get special treatment in most cases from tournament directors and even security in some cases.

phil hellmuth may well be a douche bag in some people's eyes but there is no getting away from the fact that this guy makes for great tv. so love him or hate him he will be gracing our screens and monitors for years to come so you had better at least get a taste for him..

    ahaha...delighted for him.

Hahaha that was gas! I love phil but he was way outa line! 10-4 madness! Funny for everyone apart from the brat!

Grrrrr. Have Phil WIN or PAY his way in. Don't even mind if his sponsors do but please lets not have PaddyPower paying him to come.
Doyle Brunson has class - pay for him.
Phil Hell Mouth - no thanks

if I had the oppertunity to play against Phil Helmuth - I'd call / raise him with ATC - just so I could dog him. Then I'd call him a fcukin eejit for throwing his toys out of the pram. I'd then preceed to tell him that the next time he raises preflop I'm gonna call with even worse sh1te and dog him again.

I think he's a fcukin muppet nad nothing pleases me more than seeing him donk outta tournaments. Him and Bell end should be locked in a room together and the room set on fire.
To you it's poker - to me it's my life
