I heard the NTL DVR - EPG has a 8 day limit? How do you record series then?

If you mean a series link like Sky have,UPC don't have it yet. You can set a manual recording and you'll be offered different options for recording a program i.e. daily, weekly,Mon to Fri. Need to be sure the program stays at the same time slot for this to work.

You can program it to record a certain channel every .. say .. Monday from 7pm to 8pm on a certain channel - unlike Sky's series link this won't take account of programmes running late so it'll tape from 7 to 8 no matter what is on.

On the EPG you can see a week ahead (On a few occasions I've only seen three days) so you can go to the programme hit record and it's added to your record list - however if you're doing it on a Monday to tape a one off programme on Wednesday the following week it won't show up on your screen.

When you select a programme to record via the EPG when you're looking at your list of recorded programmes, your list will show - Heroes - 6th October BBC1. However if you have it on a weekly record option all you'll see is BBC 1 6th October which is a pain in the arse if you don't watch things regularly.

There was originally a seven day EPG when NTL Digital launched. It was rather unreliable and cut down to 3 days with a software update about a year or two after the service launched. Even that was unreliable and often you couldn't see past midnight on the current day.

Those with UPC branded boxes have an eight day EPG, which is a lot more reliable than the NTL one. I'm not sure why this should be since presumably it is generated from the same information, but it is. The only problem is that there is only current programme information for radio stations now.

Sky also has a seven-day EPG. It however has Series Link.

Probably down to memory on the box. I read on some other site about people limiting their EPG info to under a certain number of days since it caused trouble having so much info.
