Real start of the NH season now, with some reasonable races at Cheltenham,

    my picks for today

14:20 Fair Along (class horse, who runs well on flat, hurdles and fences), very worried about the Nicholls Walsh Combination in this race.

14:50 Poquelin, Nicholls and Walsh do have a good record on saturdays, and this horse ran some crackers last year, if he gets round can't see him being beaten.

15:25 Patman Du Charmil, has a fairly good record at Cheltenham when normally running in much higher class races, this is a bit easier and should be there or there abouts. Also has a good record when first time out.

16:00 Simondiun, another Nicholls and Walsh horse who ran ok last year but Nicholls kep hold of him which must mean there is something about this horse. Was previously beaten by Indian Pipe Dream by 1.5 lengths but has a 3lb pull today.

16:35 Probably the hardest race to pick a horse from, but ive gone for the favourite, Supreme Duke, has been beaten by some good horses in his short career including Seven is my Number and Lodge Lane, looks the best of this field but only just.

17:10 Only really a 2 horse race, between Big Fella Thanks and Ballyfitz, BallyFitz has 1 win and 1 UR here at Cheltenham whilst Big Fella Thanks has never ran here. Im just edging towards Nicholls and Walsh (again), because Big Fella Thanks has only lost once in UK and that was carrying 11-12 around and losing to a horse 11lbs better off and had also won last 2 races.

17:45 Bobby on the Beat, this horse is (yep you have guessed it), Nicholls and Walsh again, and its very rare that they team up in a NHflat Race, this horse ran a reasonable 6th on only race last year, 6th behind Diamond Harry, who was a 3 time and unbeaten winner last season. The ground that day was soft/heavy so may have been a bit tricky for these young horses. Nevertheless i think today is Bobby on the beats day to win.

    My Selections
(all prices are betfair and as i typed this)
    14:20 Fair Along 5.9
    14:50 Poquelin 3.35
    15:25 Patman Du Charmil 8
    16:00 Simondiun 3.55
    16:35 Supreme Duke 8.4
    17:10 Big Fella Thanks 2.08
17:45 Bobby on The Beat 6.2
