Alternative flights for Irish LTE passengers
    Friday, 17 October 2008 16:34

Alternative flights have been booked for Irish passengers affected by the closure of low cost Spanish airline LTE.

The company had been booked for charter flights by Irish travel agency Panorama Sunworld and was due to service flights this weekend from Dublin and Cork to Majorca, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote.

Replacement aircraft have been sourced to fly these routes, but there will be time changes.

Passengers are being contacted and a helpline has been set up.

LTE is the fourth Spanish airline to cease flying in recent weeks following the discontinuation of services by Futura, Lagunair and Flysur.

It has been reported that the airline advised crew of the situation citing 'banking problems' as the reason for the action.

LTE has indicated it will do everything possible to minimise the impact of its action on passengers and suppliers.

The Spanish Civil Aviation Authority is due to discuss the affairs of LTE and make a decision on the airline's future.

A statement released on behalf of Panorama/Sunworld said the Majorca (Palma) flight which was due to depart Dublin tomorrow at 07.45am will now depart at 10.20pm.

Two flights from Cork to Lanzarote also due to depart tomorrow at 12.50pm will now depart at 5.30am and 2.50pm.

The Fuerteventura flight due to depart from Dublin on Sunday at 3.20pm will now depart at 4.20pm.

The helpline number for intending passengers is 0818-202020.

Having flown with LTE a few weeks ago, I have to say, good riddance. Appalling airline. If ever you had issues with Ryanair, try this crowd.

    Except you can't now.
