I think it was in summer, drogheda gamers are having a games day though. Look for them

likely to be march or april, thats what Ronan the organiser said... location is not decided on yet, but there might be some interesting changes afoot! :D

also, the gamers from www.Droghedagamers.com are leading the charge for nice armies, not full blown uber cheese armies, we dont expect others to do the same but then again its not all about winning at all costs. So expect to see about 10 bright blue shirts on the bottom tables!!! :D

    Dec,
    It's a GT.
    It's about best general.
It's not one of the Drogs non-competitive events.
If you don't like the rulepack and the opponents why bother spending money and going?

in fairness though a lot of time it comes down to the army as opposed to the general.

One GT most of the top 10 were either daemons or dark elves which not only says a lot about daemons and gav thorpes children, but also about the composition of the armies. That said the people on the top tables would probably get bored fighting armies the same as their own !

looking like it might be back in the clarion hotel in dublin,

but our crew will be there anyway! :D (at least 10 if us)

I value your comment murphyfella, just letting people know that we`re not using cheesey armies, you should be pleased! :D we should be easy to beat if thats the case!

actually, the main reason for going is to support Ronan, hes supported us, and we will certainly support him. Its not a case of going to win at all costs, but to have a few fun games with my themed army, simple as that really. Also if people know that theres some nice armies going , it should help the numbers increase , thus not running the event at a lose.

anyhow , are you even going ?

If its all about teh cheese maybe 2 treemen, 12 treekin and a horde of dryads might float the organisers boat... and its 'themed' as forest spirit army :pac:

Ah Dec don't go all defensive on me.
You'll be deleting all your posts next.

Found an interesting site the other day that kinda plays to the discussions we tend to have around gaming.
I'd view you as having an affinity to this definition
    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Scrub
Not being one, but you do have elements of the mindset.

And before you say it I'm pretty sure you would stick me under the opposite heading
    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StopHavingFunGuys

I reckon we've both much closer to the (not so) common sense middle ground when it comes to actually playing games. I've heard mention that you've even mellowed and played a 2 special characters in the same armylist you bad little gamer you.

Showing support for Ronan and the hobby in general is a noble cause. I was just wondering at the contradiction of actively supporting a tournament and format that you so obviously deride and belittle.

I'm not attending for 3 reasons.
-My army isn't finished nor likely to be in time.
-I'm not a big fan of FB tournaments, charge arcs etc. can get very contentious and I don't find that much fun
    -Lack of Wonga

    Enjoy your weekend
