    Righty,

So, I applied for a tax refund and keep getting bits back from the revenue. I paid wayyyy too much tax in my old job. I had over 3000e taken from my last pay cheque.

The revenue tell me if I am unemployed in 8 weeks time or whatever I may be elegible for more cash.

Why dont they just stop being a$$holes and give you all the cash now.?

I mean, some poster got 5,000e back recently fair dues. You think the revenue would say, ohh dear XXXX we over taxed you from xxxx to yyyy here is a cheque for €xxxx.

They are just slimey cheats I think, with more cash than the federal reserve.

Checked my account yesterday and they have paid me 4k! Rang them and they said they owe me even more and will be getting it before the end of the month. Happy days:-)

    right, well done !

but the onus is on the individual to contact them, why can't they just send out cash like good chaps.

They sure have computers in the regional offices to check all our finances Im sure...

Can someone in a civil service job apply for tax back to or do you think that the wages there are done by the book?

Anyone can contact them in this regard.
They will just recalculate your tax liability for each year over the last few years.

Make sure you have claimed all MED1,bin charges, rent relief,etc..
Also double check statement of tax credits.

I changed job back in May, I was missing PAYE tax credit as I had director status in my previous position. Quick call to revenue and advise them. They issued new statement of tax credits and in next pay cheque (Sept 2008) I got back 600 quid which was nice.

I applied there a few weeks back and got a cheque for €884 for 2007. Which was nice. How far back do they go as this was the only year on the statement?

    Thanks

How do you apply? Do you need your revenue PIN or can you simply ring up?

I got the details from the other thread that is here. I entered my pps number on the revenue site and it gave me my local office and an email address. I then emailed that address and asked for my tax to be checked.
