That's probably as good as you'll get to be honest. Over the last few years accomodation prices in the city have gone up a lot. Since the Moat House closed a lot of the football related business has gone to the budget hotels, pushing their prices up.

There is a Campanile Hotel near Albert Dock, about 10 minutes walk from the city centre & beside it is another hotel called the Dolby, they might be worth chekcing. There is also a Travelodge a bit further out along the same road. But I doubt if any of them will be less than £50 per night.

You've left it a bit late to be honest, there's the Everton v Man U game on Saturday along with a two day national hunt meeting in Aintree on Saturday and Sunday.

Cheapest hotel is the F1 hotel across from the Albert Dock, but it's most likely full.

There a few hostels about, never stayed in them mind you.

Stayed in this place years back too, it's fine and nice and central www.aachenhotel.co.uk

Are you saying your getting a ROOM in the Holiday Inn (Lime Street or 'Express') for 50 (euro or sterling) a night? Find that hard to believe.

Fair play, thats good if it's for the room and it's the HI Lime Street. Go with that because you won't get more central for a better price... not by far.

You'll still end up paying 30ish at the cheapest dingiest hovel.
