back problems-job implications?

    Hi all,
I currently don't have a job but was thinking of getting something part time. I have a back injury (herniated disc) which isn't serious, but its kind of something you'd write on an application form. What would the implications be if I start putting that down on my forms, will employers be less likely to offer me a job or interview? Bearing in mind I'm a student so the type of job I'm looking for is probably a shop and therefore involves lifting. How seriously do employers view this sort of thing as a liability? does it put up their insurance? Anything else I need to be aware of?
    Thanks in advance.

I think if you are honest and put it on your cover letter, you won't get any interviews.

If you kept this secret, would your employer notice?

I think they would notice atm, its quite sore, and I think I show that I'm sore. Plus things like mopping and sweeping aggravate it (or will/can) according to the chiropractor (but I would be trying to avoid jobs with a lot of that anyways).
tbh I think at this stage I would probably have to wait until after xmas to look for a job if I am to treat my back properly (which is the number one concern) or else try and find some students for grinds. Thanks for the imput.
