Roof Batten Nails Galvanised or not?

Noticed the builders using "3,1x75 Ring Bright" nails in their nail gun today, when they were nailing down the battens on the roof. Thing is, that these nails are starting to have rust spots already!! Anyone know if the regs say whether they should be galvanised or not?
    Thanks,

As far as I'm aware, the ring bright are ok for nailing battens to rafters.
Galvanised nails are a no-no for securing the slates to the battens - copper or SS should be used for this part.

The nails for fixing the battens can be galv

The nails for fixing the slates to the battens should be Copper, SS or Aluminium as set out in the Codes of Practice for Slating and Tiling, I.C.P.2:2002

    Thanks 'Slates'

Also, using all copper slating nails and crampions helps with keeping moss and algae growth at bay? (generally on north facing roofs)

Thanks for replies guys, there is a few big boxes of copper nails lying around, so at least the slates are taken care of!! The Homebond book doesn't get specific about the batten nails, so I suppose that the "ring brights" will do.
