    Hi all

I am new to this part of boards.

I am in the process of furnishing a new apartment and was wondering if anybody had advice on where to get good bargains to start off.

I need everything from beds, sofas, tables chairs etc. to all the usual electric goods.

If this is in the wrong place just let me know.

    All advice welcome.

    Thanks in advance

It's in Belfast, unless you want to wait until next summer when it opens in Ballymun. http://www.ikea.ie/
Mind, you can have Belfast deliver.

There's a site off this site, called www.adverts.ie which has a "free stuff" section. Everything from coaches to beds are given away.

There are some weekly furniture/ household goods auctions in Dublin. Herman Wilkinson in Rathmines on Thursday mornings and Buckleys of Sandycove on Thursday afternoons are the ones I have bought items at. A bit of luck and persistence is needed.

Try to find the gems amongst the dross. Bargaintown has one nice thing in 100 but it's worth looking and Dunnes can have good stuff. Penneys for sheets and so on, maybe cushions too. Ikea's still the best for most things though. The sale in shopdekko.com can be good too
