Looking for some advice regarding the train from Maynooth to Connolly.Realistically which morning train would I have to take to get to Clontarf Station before 8.55am?

Planning on giving up the company car next month due to the traffic(sometimes 1.5-2 hours drive in the mornings),BIK among the other charges that Mr Lenihan has put into this years budget.
Company says they`ll pay my train ticket for the year so happy days there aswell.Ill be better off by 80+ a week if I give up the car and the company pays for my ticket.

So train from Connolly to Maynooth and Dart from Connolly to Clontarf station.Job is 2 minutes walk from Clontarf.Or train to Connolly and cycle to work from there (Can you bring a bike on the train??)

Also whats it like in the evenings for the return journey.

Just want to see if its really worth my while and that the service is reliable etc etc.

    Thanks
    Richie.

Not unless it's a foldup jobbie. From what I've heard, you can get jammed in like sardines during peak times (just like the DART that way).

You'll get a seat if you get on in Maynooth but you will likely be lynched by other commuters if you try to bring a full size bike (let alone if its actually allowed). However, a fomer colleague used to take a folding one no problems (think he lurks on this forum the odd time actually).

Tbh I wouldnt even mind standing--that 2hr,25km drive is killing me-even before the budget I was toying with the idea of the train.Might just buy a fold up bike and use that.Or buy 2 cheap beat up ones and leave one in each station :)

Connolly is a bit of a bottle neck trainwise, so an alternative is using Drumcondra Station to save a few minute in the morning, although the bike parking would be on street.
