    Hiya,

I'd love to do the route 66 drive.. but I'd say it'll be an expensive one as you'd have to fly to Chicago/LA, rent a car, and then fly home from the opposite side.. take two weeks to do it I'd say?

HAs anyone or anyone you know done it and if so, how did they go about organising it?

    Ta

Travelled Route 66 for two weeks earlier this year. I would recommned at least 3 weeks for the trip. Found the constant driving tough but it was fantasitc. Arrived in chicago, spent two days there, picked up car, drove for 10 days, detoured to Grand Canyon and Las Vegas for two nights then back on the route, to LA and a couple of ngihts in Santa Monica before heading back to dublin. Whole trip for two including flights, all car hire, all accomodation ( in decent hotels / motels ) all food and drink was 5k.:D
