RCA tv fault

hi sorry im very new to this. i have a rca tv that until recently was working fine. Now when i go to turn it on it will turn on then off before the picture has even come on. then it will do this theer times on it own. Then the standby light will flick 4 times then 5 times. hi sorry im very new to this. i have a rca tv that until recently was working fine. can you give me more info on the tv?
is it a CRT about 9/10 years old?
Unusual to see an RCA in ireland.....
