    psychiatry is the treatment and prevention of human mental problems and psychology is the theory and study behind what actually happens inside your mind. that explains the difference in pretty simple language you should look them up on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki to get a more definitive answer.

    Hi electrofilth,

    I am an educational psychologist so I did an undergraduate degree in psychology and post graduate training to specialise in educatiional psychology to qualify as a psychologist.

    A psychiatrist is a medically trained doctor who then goes on to specialised training in the area of psychiatry... that's as far as I am aware but don't quote me!
