Dublin to Salthill

Going to Salthill for a night next weekend. What would be the best way to get there? I've looked up irishrail and buseireann but can't really figure out if the train or bus will get me anywhere near it, don't know Galway at all. It doesn't have to be exactly Salthill but the closest possible station/bus stop that goes from Dublin would be great if anyone could help me out. Thanks.

Train or bus will take you to Eyre Sq in Galway centre from Dublin. Salthill is about 2km south-west so you could walk it easily (and stop off for a nice pint on the way).

once you get to galway you will have no problem getting to salthill-just get a bus or taxi.
Salthill just 5 mins away by car from city centre
