    Hi,

Does anybody have any opinions on a 00 2ltr Diesel Vectra?

Anything I should check, other than the timing belt and water pump?

    thanks

As in Honest John's review, anecdotal evidence from some colleagues suggests they are oil guzzlers, keep an eye out for sludgy oil, and make sure it has been serviced very frequently and on time. Check the last replacement date of mass flow sensors. If outside last 30k, may need replacement. Corrosion a huge issue, along with ridiculous electrical niggles.

If you can avoid the car, I'd advise you do. There's better diesel cars out there, with improved reliability. Mazda 626 2.0TD (100bhp) 99-02 for instance are very good for the money (€2,000-€3,500)

I had one of these model Vectras, though it was a petrol model. Very poor car, lots of electrical issues, poor fuel economy, not very well built and shocking depreciation. I also found Opel dealers useless to fix problems under warranty. Never touch the brand again.

To be honest there are much better cars out there in this range.
