Check what time tickets are on sale. Get up that morning and make sure you're at the computer and on the site at least five minutes before that time. Keep refreshing the page until they appear. Purchase.

Don't keep clicking refresh for 5 minutes as I think ticketmaster have a bot checker, I know a poster here reported before that the website wouldn't allow them further as they were pressing refresh too many time.

Maybe 2 minutes before would be safe and press refresh every 10 seconds and as it gets closer, every second ;)

The best way to buy them is load the page at the exact time they are due to go on sale. When it is the exact time the link will become available, all the refreshing in the world prior to the exact time will be pointless. Without fail the link has been available to me when the big hand and the little hand meet.

There are many ways to know what the exact time is.

Vital seconds can make huge differences though. I remember the Tom Waits gig, another poster and I were refreshing with about a minute to go and his captcha image was much easier than mine, I had to look at mine twice to make sure I got it right, it meant the difference between 1st and 3rd row seats and my typing is 94wpm according to that test on bebo :pac: I remember the purchase page being up about 20 seconds before 9am though. Could indeed have been my watch, but there's many factors that could have the wrong time, server settings, feeds etc. Best bet is to get you and the person you're going with both online before they go on sale and get on msn and if/when you both get a purchase page, say what seats you have quickly and whoever has the better ones go ahead and buy.

Indeed, there are obviously some tiny luck issues around it but generally speaking if your logged in the you've the speaking clock in your ear you'll never miss out on tickets. At least I've never had the misfortune in recent years of missing out on big gigs, although the fun of it has been somewhat removed with this O2 presale - very easy to get tickets.

It also helps too to have a very fast connection. Having a Ticketmaster account with your credit/debit card on file is very handy too. Once you've reserved the tickets it's very convenient not to have to fumble around with your credit/debit card and within a few clicks, the tickets are yours.

From a certain point of view, I can understand the O2 presales taking some of the "fun" out of buying tickets but I think I much prefer not having to sweat these things out.

How many tickets would be allocated for o2 customers. I assume its limited.

The Ts&Cs just say, "Total Tickets Available: Per Event" so it probably varies from gig to gig but it's certainly limited.

    It's 10% or 15%, can't remember the full amount.

    Nothing too significant really.
