Customs on items from Amazon.co.uk?

Just wondering if it's possible to have to pay customs on items from the UK?

I know you have to on items from outside the EU, so how about the likes of Amazon.co.uk?

I'm thinking of ordering a box set worth around E150, so I shouldn't have to pay any customs on this should I seeing as it's just coming from the UK?

You do not pay VAT for items bought from the UK (Except the channel islands...which aren't actually part of 'the UK' ...just for completeness sake I add this, in case you're buying from a market place seller...I'll stop now)

Cool, so definitely no chance of getting stung by any other charges on anything I buy from the likes of Amazon.co.uk?

    Thanks for that! :)

Amazon will just charge you the Irish vat rate rather than the UK one, you won't get charged anything on top of what they charge. But the price that you are currently looking at on their site will change once they apply the different vat rate.

When you say "the likes of" are you actually referring to Amazon, or other websites that offer a similar choice and service as Amazon? Even UK based sites often send from outside of the EU, in which case the packages will be subject to duty and VAT on delivery. For Amazon.co.uk itself though, they include VAT in all purchases, so there's nothing to worry about.
