    Well good question.

Ok what is my vision for the future of the club?
Well from the start this was described as a virtual club where by people can join and train alone using the resources that we will provide as a club, The resources been the knowledge of our coaches ( If we have some ).
We will need to establish what people would like to achieve from this and at what level they would like to compete in the future this may range from finishing a 10k , running a marathon or competing in the National cross country or Track and Field ( up until now I have not though about field events) .
Once we establish what people would like to achieve then we can define programs online for people to follow and log their progression and then compete for Boards AC in whatever event that
I would also like to have some scheduled training session that people have the option to attend just like some of the groups that run in the park on the weekends. These would need to be optional and if we went down the lines of AAI and have a team race then we could not just pick people who attend session we would need to have some selection criteria past performance etc This would only come into play when we are trying to pick our best team for a team event ie Raheny 5 mile or at Xcountry.
With the BHAA we would not have this problem as its first 3 past the post the score from any business that scores in any level.
I also think that the structure of the club is perfect for people training on their own for marathon either in Ireland or abroad. We can arrange groups to travel, Pacing groups as in the Dublin marathon this year.

There should also be a major focus places on enjoyment, you want people to enjoy their sport whatever level they are competing at. Every one of all standards should be welcome.

    About me .

Name Mark Foley 32 marired one kid .

Well i've been running most my life from the age of 11-12 I joined my local club in north county dublin. To start with I wasnt a great runer at all, remember finishing last in my first ever Xcounty at the back of santry. however I loved it, I ran a couple of times a week until i reached secondary.
this is where I did most my running and my love for the sport grew , I trained a couple of times a week, and was the training partner to a double national champ who eventually left the sport :(.

On leaving school I joined Raheny shamrocks and ran for them for 2 years training with some great guys.

After a break of a few years I back training hard again and really loving the sport, I would love to get into coaching someday . The idea of the boards appeals to me as I train alot on my own.

    Hi Folks,

Fair play about the club great idea. Am in a club myself already though.

Most clubs would have a male and female captain as there are often seperate categories.
Also on the AAI site they have a news item now about coach training which may be of interest to ye.
