    Hi,

Ive seen an L200 for sale. It's a 03 with 66k miles on the clock for sale through a dealership currently asking 8700 euro.

    1) Does this seem like a good deal and what could i expect him to knock off the price?

    2) what are people experiences of this vehicle? Are they practical as a family vehicle? ( i am aware of tax implications if i were to do this) MPG?

    3) Any Alternatives?

Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer

    Hey,

I had a post up here a few months ago when I was planning to buy an L200 single cab. I didn't get much feedback, but I took a chance and bought it anyway. Its really for farming - pulling trailers and carrying stuff.

3 Months after buying it, I'm glad I did. It's as solid as a rock, very comfortable and not half as hard as people sugested it would be on fuel.
The 2.5 engine will do 450 miles to the tank - if its not pulling anything. At today's diesel prices it costs approx €80 to fill the tank. If I was pulling a 12 x 6 Ifor Williams with cattle in it, I could expect it to do about 250 miles to the tank.
The engine is much quieter than people suggested it would be too. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. I love driving it, and its a pure workhorse, it loves soft ground and I wouldn't swap it for anything right now.

Personally I don't think that one would be practical for a family. We have a 1.4 d4d Toyota Auris. Tax and insurance is really cheap. It does 900km to a tank of diesel that I can fill for €55. I think these smaller engine cars are the way to go - unless you have work for a 4x4.
I have the best of both world's right now. If the Mitsi s something that you really want, then I'd go for it.

    Best of luck

    Dan

Not trying to hijack the thread, I am looking at a 06 L200 single cab at the moment. Possibly buying.

I have one question about the engine and specifically the fan-belt pulleys. On the one I am interested in, it starts with no problem and runs fine. At idle, the lower pulley seems to wobble considerably. Only at idle. When you press the accelerator, the wobble goes away. All the pulleys are lined. On my car, from memory, there is no such wobble.

What do you think of this? Possible issue? Any input is much appreciated. Thank you.

Have a 06 l200 single cab 2.5 DID (new shape). There is no wobble in the pulley's. Would get a mechanic to look at it before I bought if I was you.
