Hi, I am just wondering if there is a way of calculating how much your rent relief is worth. I just sent off the paperwork for 2.5 years rented accomadation. the total rent paid came to something like e10,650. Does the amount of tax due back differ from one individual to another depending on salary, tax bracket, marital…

I'm pretty sure rent relief just allows you to earn an extra €2,000 before getting taxed. Which would be worth €400 in tax. So afaik you'd get back close to €1000, obviously depending on whether you were taxed more than €400 in those years, which I presume you were.
