Acoustic question

    Folks....
I've been given a task by a friend.

They want to get a Rainsong A-WS1000 Advance Series acoustic guitar.

These guitars are made from Graphite...i've never played one...so if anyone has...I'm especially interested in what you have to say!

Anyways...I have played Emerald acoustics...they are made from Carbon Fibre and as above are very expensive considering there is no quality "woods" to speak of in their construction!
I liked the sound from the Emerald I have to say....but having the money and the option....I'd sooner go for a nice jumbo Guild or Takamiine....which you could totally get for the same money or less!

My question....How do these Graphite acoustics sound compared to a good Jumbo acoustic or indeed against an Emerald (www.emeraldacoustics.com) made in Donegal and everything! :)
    Are they worth the money?
Is my friend foolish for choosing one over a "traditional" acoustic?

    Opinion's...Thoughts?

How much does this Rainsong sell for? Personally I'd go for a nice wood guitar. I have two hand made acoustics and the sound is just so nice I can't see anything other than wood sounding as good. Also wood will open up the sound with each year and has a lot more character I think. I've tried those emerald guitars in musicmaker before and I didn't think they were that good tbh. Let me know the budget and I can probably recommend something. At least to give your friend an idea of other options :)

ah jayziz...sure yer preaching to the choir...I told him, he's mad!

    They cost around 1500!

For that money, he could get an actual vintage Jumbo Gretsch or something!

Ah thats a nice chunk of change and will get him a very good wood acoustic. I got my Lakewood for €1400 and that included return flights for me and the guitar (Flew over the london to buy it and bought it a chair on the plane on the way home. haha). If he could get something like the Lakewood in my signature he'd have a cracking guitar. They retail in my local music shop for 2.5k

I'll see if I can find anything else he might be interested in

Like this jumbo Guild from chrisguitars:

He could get that and probably still have change from the 1500
