    Hi,
My computer has the following hardware:
    X10 USB Wireless Transceiver (ACPI-compliant)

Is there any way of using this with the xbox wireless controller on my PC without the need of buying the Xbox 360™ Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows®

As far as I know they all use RF technology.

    Thanks for any help.
    Cheers.
    Turtle

I don't think so. Ms is probably proprietary. I searched for a way before and never found anything.

The adapter thing is only 20 quid or so but it is the effort of finding a store selling the bloody thing that always put me off bothering to buy one. They aren't even that easy to find online.

I got the dongle on play.com a while back there for ~€20 iirc.

play wont load properly for me atm to check.

    Cheers,
Yeah I found the item at play for €18.49

I also have a wired controller I can just plug into the PC which is fine, just wondered if it were possible with the hardware I already have.

Thanks anyway, will just make do with the wire :)

It isn't possible unfortunately - the proprietary wireless signal for the controllers is a pain in the a** for third party accessory manufacturers as well (didn't early Guitar Hero controllers require an additional USB dongle?), since they have to license it from MS, whereas I think the PS3 just uses standard Bluetooth.
