I have just started to try some HDR. Have some bracketed exposures from Clifden earlier this year.

    Hey Caban,
I wasn't exactly sure what you wanted from this thread. Some advise, c&c, us to have a go? I like your conversion, it seems good for the three images you had to play with. What program have you used?
I had a really quick go at it (uncaled monitor) and have posted it below with a before and after also. If your using photomatrix I have saved the config file if you would like me to send it over to you to see the settings used :)

Probably not the best conversion, I may have another bashin a day if I have some time.
    Kyle

It was done with Photomatrix just at default settings. Have only just got it & have not had time to fiddle with it much. I was surprised at how well it worked without doing anything to it.

I do like the way you were able to bring out the light on the hills more. The config file would be interesting. Thanks.

It's not really a HDR scene to start with though, if you look at the 0EV shot there doesn't seem to be any part of it with either highlight or shadow clipping.

If you are trying to use photomatrix to get that highly stylised "tone mapped" look then its fine but its not really pushing the technique anywhere near its limits.

I agree. I am just starting to play with HDR & seeing what it can do. I only have a few images that are Bracketed, so am using those. Will have to try shooting some in the future that are more suitable.

One thing I found good when learning HDR was to take a picture from inside the house looking out a window. Then try get the details right on the inside as well as the garden/road etc.

    PM sent also :)
