Aye, I'm not even sure everyone's aware that Romo's out for the next 4 weeks:http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80b9bd38&template=with-video&confirm=true

    Bummer!

Totally agree, and Stallworth plays his first game for the Browns tonight. He was class for us last year, he can make a huge difference if he is fully fit.

Hopefully the Bears won't push a guy out of bounds with one second left on the clock, in field goal range when they're winning by one again

The Monday game should be very interesting as alot of people are saying Denver will kill the Patriots but lets look at the scores so far:

    Week 1:
    KC 10 @ NE 17
    DEN 41 @ OAK 14

    Week 2:
    SD 38 @ DEN 39
    NE 19 @ NYJ 10

    Week 3:
    MIA 38 @ NE 13
    NO 32 @ DEN 34

    Week 4:
    DEN 19 @ KC 33
    Pats Bye

    Week 5:
    NE 30 @ SF 21
    TB 13 @ DEN 16

    Week 6:
    JAC 24 @ DEN 17
    NE 10 @ SD 30

    Broncos 4-2
Patriots 3-2 a game down due to bye week.

One thing I will say about Monday is if the Patriots offense does something they can win. Offensively the Broncos have shown the are good but their defense leaks alot of points. Look at the amount of shootouts they have had. And losing to KC a game everybody expected they would win comfortably espcially after Raiders, Falcons danced on them and Pats also beat them. The Broncos will again this year be inconsistent and this game will hopefully be another great game. My prediction as a Pats is that if the Patriots can actually offensively do something the game is not out off reach and a close win by the Pats. Gostowski field goal to win game.:D

Yeah, now Denver's offense is starting to struggle, but given that NE are a patch of their former selves, then Monday's game is wide open !
I predict a high scoring game with .......ahem......Denver, no...NE, no... Denver winning !
Looking at previous weeks results, predicting all correct results in a given week is getting harder, ie. some well fancied teams getting turned over.

    Monday Oct 20th

    DEN @ NE 8:30pm

A lot of wins on the road this week.I think the Chargers and the Colts are motoring now and should win the majority of their games now for the playoffs. I don't know if I can say the same for New England but I'm giving them the win anyway, mainly because I think they'll burst the Bronco's bubble this week and restore some order in the AFC West. Buffalo will get a rude awakening too I think. Colts Defense will continue to improve (couple of Injured players back this week), and Manning to make the plays that matter on the drives that matter.
The Browns looked sharp on Monday, Washington weren't, so I'll go with the Browns. While I like the Vikings and could watch Peterson play all day long, the Bears will get more running yards IMO, and pretty much take this one by two or three scores.
Baltimore to find the Dolphins out. Oakland, KC, Seattle, St Louis, Cincinnati just not good enough to make a game of it, although I think a few teams there for the taking: Dallas, Titans (it gets harder the further you go unbeaten).
Giants to get back to winning ways and gobble up the 49'ers. Manning will play.

    Sunday Oct 19th

SD @ BUF 1:00 PM - San Diego's win against the Patriots will give them confidence and momentum going into this one.
NO @ CAR 1:00 PM - I think New Orleans can pull of the win at the Panthers thus giving them the edge in the next week's London game.
MIN @ CHI 1:00 PM - Tight rivalry game. I think the Bear's D is good enough to limit the input of Peterson and win them this game.
PIT @ CIN 1:00 PM - Steelers are on form and will win comfortably here.
TEN @ KC 1:00 PM - 7-0 go the Titans
BAL @ MIA 1:00 PM - Tough one to call. I think Ray Lewis and co are good enough to cover WildCat
SF @ NYG 1:00 PM - Giants to get back on track.
DAL @ STL 1:00 PM - Not as obvious a win as it was.
DET @ HOU 4:05 PM - Houston to inflict more misery on a Roy Williams-less Detroit.
    IND @ GB 4:15 PM - :(
NYJ @ OAK 4:15 PM - New York Bretts to beat the Raiders
CLE @ WAS 4:15 PM - Cleveland defied the odds against the Giants while the Redskins were upset by the Rams. Don't look for either teams previous result to happen again.
SEA @ TB 8:15 PM - Tampa are good and will beat the crap out of Seattle.

    Monday Oct 20th

DEN @ NE 8:30pm - I fancy New England here for some reason/

Gonzalez ensures teammates he is still committed to Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tony Gonzalez held a players-only meeting with his teammates to assure them he's not bitter that the Kansas City Chiefs failed to trade him to a contender.

Gonzalez said he held Wednesday's meeting because he wanted to make sure the young guys know it's about "being the best football player you can be no matter what the situation is."

A nine-time Pro Bowl tight end, Gonzalez acknowledged he first was shocked and angered when the trade deadline passed and no deal was struck.

Thank God he's not going. He's pretty much all we have! (along with LJ)

SD @ BUF 1:00 PM - The Chargers might have turned the corner last week and kick started their season. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this week
    NO @ CAR 1:00 PM -
Panthers were horrendous last week, the Saints were impressive last week. I'll give the Saints the benefit of the doubt.
MIN @ CHI 1:00 PM - Intriguing matchup here. Two good defenses and average offenses. The Vikings have improved the last few weeks and the Bears must be sore after last week. The Bears have been impressive at home so I'll go for them.
    PIT @ CIN 1:00 PM -
The Bengals are due to step up one of these weeks but the Steelers have kept doing it with Ben not fully fit and without a big name at RB and you have to fancy them here.
    TEN@ KC 1:00 PM -
The Titans have been impressive so far. The Chiefs have been shocking. LJ is not having a great season and this gives an opportunity to his back ups to show what they can do. There have been shocks every week so far and I'll go for one here. Kansas so shock us all somehow.
    BAL @ MIA 1:00 PM -
The Ravens got spanked last week. Miami have improved a lot. I'll go with the Dolphins 'wildcat' to win another game.
SF @ NYG 1:00 PM - Well the Giants were horrendous last week and the 49ers blew it against the Eagles. I can't see the 49ers stopping the Giants offense. Giants win.
    DAL@ STL 1:00 PM -
I'm going for the Rams to take this one. I don't know what to make of their win last week. But Dallas have been getting worse by the week and the loss of Romo from the offense and Pacman from the Defense cannot help matters. Two in a row for the Rams.
    DET @ HOU 4:05 PM -
Texans have good at home. Detroit are possibly the worst team in the NFL at the moment. Texans win.
    IND @ GB 4:15 PM -
Which Colts turns up this week. The newly impressive run stopping defense that we seen last week or the one that would not be able to stop John Madden from rushing 100 yards. Its looking like the Colts have moved up a gear and you have to go with them.
    NYJ @ OAK 4:15 PM -
Jets are not great against the run, but they have the firepower to see this one through. Jets win.
    CLE @ WAS 4:15 PM -
Cleveland were superb last week or at least it looked that way. Anderson was magnificent. I gotta go with the Browns after that.
SEA @ TB 8:15 PM - The Seahawks need to stop up and show some form, they still have injuries but not enough to keep making excuses. The Bucs have been impressive at home though and you have to go with the form. Bucs win.
DEN @ NE 8:30pm - The Broncos have been horrendous on defense. As a result any team has a chance against them. However the Patriots have not been impressive at all so far this season and to me it looks like the Broncos have enough firepower to get it done. Broncos win as much as I hate to predict it.

Giving up 34 points to St. Louis is not Brad Johnson's fault.*

Gutted Sky couldn't show the Bills game. These guys are for real.

I watched the Bills game. The Chargers were horrific on defence, they never got close to Edwards, he had all the time in the world to deliver and they were not successful against the rush either.
LT does not look even close to the player he has been for the last few years. Rivers threw a terrible pass on 1st and goal when they had the chance to take the lead in the 4th quarter when it was clear that the receiver was completely covered. He then threw another one late in the game which was also a very poor throw. Both were intercepted.
I don't think the Bills line will get that much time against many defenses so it still remains to be seen how good they are. I won't get carried away by them just yet. They do have a nice schedule though.

The Colts are absolutely dire again tonight. Can't see them making the Playoff's TBH. Gutted by this performance tonight. They got roughed up by the GB Offense in the first 1/4 and have run off crying from what I can see.

Yeah, thats a brutal performance again. After last week I thought they had finally woken up but back to this rubbish. Its shocking stuff, and when you consider that the Packers are not that great so far this season it makes it all the worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

All those penalties against the Colts at lambeau field finished the game off. You're not going to be in a game with that number of penalty yards.

A lot of people seemed to favour the Colts before this game, but I had a feeling they'd get turned over in this one. It's not an easy place to play and the Packers are not rubbish.

Colts can still realistically make either 9-7 or 10-6 at a push.

I would say it was the Colts inability to find open recievers is what finished the game from start. 2 Ints returned for TDs aswell. Pack defence used man to man coverage very effectively tonight.

No sign of any action here, watching the Pats/Broncos 20 to zip for the Pats at halftime and get this Sammy Morris 138 yards rushing.

It was worrying that he did not appear for the second half with a knee problem. And with Maroney gone for the season he will be needed. Having said that Green looked ok and Faulk looked good but of course it was against Denver.
Great to see a result that reminds me of last year for a change. I don't know what to make of it overall but its good to see anyways. This Bills game is real big now. Cassel looked a bit better today, he is no Brady but maybe he will settle in now that he has a couple of wins under his belt. Moss will be a lot happier after getting 2 tds today.

great result for the pats and us fans last night, the only drawback is, it was that Denver defence......Even the offence didnt turn up, how many turnovers and stupid penalties did they give away (both sides of the ball)

Cassell gets sacked a ridiculous amount of times, I still wouldnt have faith in him to lead the team but im encouraged by the defensive performance last night
