    Folks

Just concerning a side project to my dissertation, is it possible to make a simple universal (java?) application which on user command will send an sms to a central system with their current cell location? Is one already on the market?

    Spanks

    Wow, quick reply, thanks!

So if i were to design a program that would be usable on most phones in ireland, someone shouldn't have too much difficulty writing it up?

What's the best way to receive the information? I want it to go straight into another desktop based program.

    Again, much appreciated

You can use one of the phones access points to communicate with your web application hosted on your desktop.
