Instrumental (on the quays) were the only shop I remember that actually bought used guitars for cash. I havent been near them in years so I couldn't say what the craic is.

If a shop buys (or takes as a trade) your guitar, they need to make a profit on it, and also need to charge vat, and offer some kind of short-term guarantee. So basically they're going to offer you a crappy price compared to what you'll get with a private sale.

i think instrumental do on the queys..

and as of late im 99% sure that music maker are taking in second hand guitars as i was looking at a white mustang they had there a few months back.

Oh, and theres definitly that place across from music maker down towards waltons. Its a small place near sabotage - usually has a fold out sign with guitars on it.. well the door to the side of that, ring the bottom bell and you will be let into an appartment type area, go up 3 flights of steps and you will come to a shop which only deals with second hand gear. Thats the best place to sell imo. Some SAVAGE guitars in there!

u can usually trade or swap but probably better to sell yourself cause the shop has to add the vat back onto the guitar, so you'll get a little less

put it up on adverts.ie and see how it goes

I doubt it was your intention but you made that place sound quite sketchy...

I've never heard of it though. Anyone else ever been?

I've been up to GuitarFix. It's certainly cosy but there's a great array of guitars for some very good prices.

+1 for guitarfix, great guitars in there. It's just above Buffalo shoes.

Although it's a good place to buy 2nd hand, not sure about selling.
