Good old rumours! Plus I read somewhere they supposed to play Finland on 14 & 15 June, so dunno whats right.

Think it was Lord Lucan who mentioned Machine Head in the Ac/D thread in Rock/Metal, but think thats only two dates cos Lamb of God are supposed to be supporting, but dont think the LA venue allows them play, so had to swap for the two days.

the sword are doing all the US dates. down are doing one leg as are lamb of god and then machine head do the final leg in january. machine head are filling in for lamb of god on the 2 LA shows cause they're banned from playing the LA forum.

metallica and machine head would be an awesome line-up. down are pretty decent too, wouldn't mind seeing them.

Really don't think it is. Doubt they'll do Dublin twice within such a space of time.

Lord Lucan, yeah, saw that after I posted, they do switch around alright. Ah seating ticket for myself forthis I'd say.

    hmmmm
I think I've seen that list before Mushy with different dates on it.......
there's so many fake dates floating around now for big tours it's a complete pain in the ass.......

hopefully they'll also confirm a Dublin date today - but I'm happy now anyway, so they can wait a while now :-)
    gonna be an expensive 2009.....:D

Very expensive early 2009...todays great news, maybe Tallica, then hopefully Weezer, Eagles of Death Metal too. Good times.

I saw them down on Scarlet Mist to play National Stadium in 2007...and 2008. People just hitting and hoping with dates, so nothing new here. Ah, it'll be the Point, think we can all agree on that.

I think they'll be here before that too......they seemed pretty sure in Sept that they'd be hitting the UK end Feb start of March.......but these things change....

    no compromise lads - it's TheO2 :P
I've wiped The Point from my memory and I'm looking forward to a venue with excellent sound at every gig.......;)

What would you guys like as the setlist ? I have heard from a variety of sources, and the setlist composition in Berlin and London, that we may see something quite different from recent times, with the potential for some classics to be axed from the list.

    I would like

    This was Just Your Life
    The End of The Line
    No Remorse
    Master Of Puppets
    The Day That Never Comes
    My Friend Of Misery
    Harvester Of Sorrow
    All Nightmare Long
    One
    Cyanide
    Until It Sleeps
    The Memory Remains
    The Unforgiven iii
    Creeping Death
    Call Of Kutulu
    Seek and Destroy
    Enter Sandman
    Whiskey in The Jar
    Dyers Eve
    Motorbreath

they're averaging about 18 songs a night, roughly 2hrs and 15 mins. i'd expect a few of the TBA tracks to disappear eg.NEM/SBT/SANDMAN. i think you'll see a couple of 'load' tunes make an appearance and a few rarely played 'oldies' and about 5/6 new tunes from DM. they've a rehearsal in san francisco on friday, that'll be the first clue we'll get as to how the set might shape up. first show of the tour is this day week in arizona.

Just announced several dates in candanavia between March and July.

The way the dates are shaping up, I wouldnt be suprised if they played both a Dublin and Belfast gig.

Apparently they are using an 'in the round' stage for this tour. I don't know if the O2 is suitable for that kind of show, hopefully it is. Should be fine in the Odyssey though.

I could do without hearing 'Whiskey in the jar' on this tour. Back in 2004 they had been playing 'Dyer's Eve' as an encore but dropped it when they were in Dublin to play 'Whiskey...' :(

The new Point could accomodate an "in the round" stage of sorts going by the seating chart for the upcoming WWE event:

I'm going to lock this thread for now to prevent a whole load of bans

Their gig last year was not allowed to be discussed on this forum. In all likelihood a new gig wont either.

If a new gig is confirmed with different promoters I'll reopen this thread...
