I've been using skype for a about a month now but I've noticed that I always seem to be overcharged, is there some hidden costs im unaware of.

I've tested it a few times.
EVen there a minute ago I rang a mate on a cork landline for 1min 34 seconds and they say it costs 1.7c a minute ok so that would count as 2 mins so it would be 3.4c or rounded off for to 4c.
Well how is it that my skype credit went from E9.13 to E9.06
    Thats 7c!

It seems to happen every time I call someone.

Skype might not offer per second billing either so you may be charger for 2 mins even if its a 3 62 second call. Eircom dont do per second either... Very few companies do..
