Does anyone know if Irish rail will start charging for parking at Clonsilla?
If so, when and how much?

Where is the car park for Clonsilla? I thought most people just parked on the side of the road

There is no car park but I heard rumours that they were to start charging for parking at the side of the road, like pay and display. I could be wrong though.

The guards operate a pay and display there. They display the fine you pay it!

Its not suitable for car parking hence the double yellow lines

Why not ring Fingal County Council and ask them? If it's a public road is under their remit.

I recall seeing information (Leo Varadkar publicity leaflet) about the field on the southside of the station being converted into a station car park. I saw diggers in there a while back so not sure if the work had already started.

It appears that that filed of zoned as class 1 open space.

The work you saw is probably for this planning application F08A/0566, car parking for two football pitches. Theres no planning permission in for the upper part of the field closest to the train station.
