Where can I get Rubles in Dublin?

Trying to get rubles for a vacation to Russia. Have phones a few banks and post offices but they don't seem to do them. Any ideas folks? cheers

I think it is really difficult here in Ireland. You can get Rubles in Russia and surrounding Eastern European countries.

Its illegal to buy russian currency outside of the country

You can get some if you are visitng some of its neighbours en route, e.g Latvia

We just used the ATMS when we got there

You can use american dollars but its technically illegal and not advised

Are you looking have just some cash on hand ? otherwise easiest to just draw some there or get some dollars and exchange (am sure you can exchange euro too just we never did )

There's no need to be getting dollars and, even when I was living there 8 years ago, there was nobody accepting dollars.

Euro is a world currency and you can exchange it everywhere. I recommend you use a bank or a hotel bureau de change and not any of the street exchanges, though they are less frequent nowadays.

You can just use your atm card (if it has the link or cirrus mark) but beware your own bank's charges for non-eurozone withdrawals. Can be hefty.
