Hi guys having a probblem with a corrupt data file that can't repair its self I have even gone onto the PS3 shooting site and they don't have answers that I could find.

When I switch on the PS3 it starts up with the music in the background and imediatly says the hard disk has a corrupt data file press X to fix it. Once you press the X button it gets to 25% before stopping for a while then continues on to the end then resets.

Everything then starts all over again with the same message. Any help would be much appreciated

p.s Sorry about the bad spelling a bit stressed out

This happened to me before. Unfirtunatly you have to get it repaired (€€€) or buy a new HDD (€)

    I chose a 120 GB From elara.ie.

But you could probably get a 160 GB for what I paid.

    Good luck.

You'll need SATA cables for that.

You need to format the hard drive. Same thing happened to me, lost all my game saves too. If you know somebody else with a PS3 apparently sticking your hard drives in theirs will format it. Be careful when taking it out though, the blue screw can be a bit of a balls and you can easily end up wrecking it. Make sure you use the right size screw driver.

My brother had this problem as well, he contacted Sony they sent out a courier to collect his ps3 and within 4 days he had a refurbished model delivered to his door free of charge. He bought his original ps3 on launch day so I think the warranty was up. All his saved game data was lost!!
