    I connected to the net for the first time in a while on my Ubuntu boot, and thought I'd update my system. So I ran
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

    This seems to have borked my Ubunting. It now takes quite a long time to boot, some of which is telling me stuff about anachronistic anachrons or something and will only boot in Low-Graphics Mode. My touchpad is also no longer recognised.

    The vanilla ubuntu kernel seemed to support the screen resolution [1024x600] and trackpad fine when I first installed it, even before adamm's kernel so I don't know what the issue is. I didn't delete anything.

    My machine has booted into Low Graphics Mode a few times before, but restarting always fixed it. This issue however is persistent.

    I'm using an Eee 1000H. If anyone could give me some hints on how to fix whatever the hell went wrong, that would be great.

    Was it Ubuntu or Ubuntu-eee? I've just put Ubuntu-eee on my 1000 and I've got to say, it works a treat. There's a few things I had to fix but nothing major. I've no wireless in my apartment at the moment so not sure if that's working but everything else seems good.

    If you've any questions on the eee install of ubuntu, let me know and I'll try help.

    It's normal Ubuntu, running adamm's kernel. I've been using it for a few months, so I don't need help with the setup.

    Why not try the eee release?
